What is an Escape Room?
Escape Rooms are interactive live-action game, played in groups of 2-6 players. You're locked in and are working against the clock using only your wits and the contents of the room to work out how to escape before time runs out.
What rooms do you have?
We have Wales #1 and #3 rated games 'REDBEARD'S REVENGE' and 'BANGED UP' at our 5 Market Street Venue (formerly Exit60) up and running and ready to book right now. These take up to 60 minutes and can be played in groups of 2-6 players. We will also have two brand new Escape Room games ready for you soon at our High Street venue, on the first floor off the Corn Exchange. The rooms in development are titled 'BATTLE OF THE BANDS' and 'THE OCCULTIST' We are also working on a completely unique multiplayer game for larger groups of 8-14 players called 'SABOTAGE' which is a longer experience, taking 90 minutes to 2 hours.
When do your new rooms open?
We don't have an exact opening date yet. We're in the new venue and working on the build and room setup at the moment. We hope to be opening for bookings over the coming months. Can I book yet?
Yes, 'REDBEARD'S REVENGE' and 'BANGED UP' are both already open and can be booked here. 'THE OCCULTIST' and 'BATTLE OF THE BANDS '99' will be open for bookings later in the year.
Where can I find you?
The Yellow Rooms ('REDBEARD'S REVENGE' and 'BANGED UP' are both found in our Market Street venue, just off the High Street. You can see us on Google Maps here. Our new location, The Red Rooms, are currently taking shape on the first floor of The Corn Exchange, on the High Street, you can find our entrance directly opposite The Carpenters Arms & McCanns pubs. Find us on Google Maps here. Both venues are within 2 minutes of each other and are just a stone's throw from our old location in Griffin Street (but much easier to find).
Can I still play your old rooms anywhere?
We retired our previous rooms 'TORTURECORP' and 'HOST' when leaving our previous location. You can learn more about those rooms here.
How much does it cost to play?
The price per person varies depending on the size of your team. It's cheaper per person to play in larger groups and we'd generally advise that teams of 4+ players stand a better chance at beating the rooms. Escape Rooms are charged from £21-£30 per person depending on your team size. 'SABOTAGE' is a longer experience for larger groups of 8-14 people and costs £17.50-£30.62 per person, depending on the number of players.
Can I use your rooms to play my own games?
We will be offering players the chance to use the 'SABOTAGE' room to run their own tabletop RPG games. The room has a large table at the centre with very atmospheric decor and the option for 'Day' and 'Night' lighting modes with appropriate backing music/sound effects to match both modes. If I book/pre-pay for a game, can I add extra players later?
Absolutely. If you have booked for 2-5 players you can add any number of extra players up to a maximum of six players in total. If you give us enough notice (at least 48 hours) you can just pay the difference in the booking cost to add extras. However, any extra players added at short notice will pay a flay fee of £22, to be paid on the day of your visit, prior to your game.
Can children play?
Under 18s are welcome to play but, for insurance and health & safety purposes, they must have a paying adult of at least 21 years of age in the game room with them throughout their game. This adult is included in the number of (paid) players as we have to adhere to strict rules on room capacities. 'The Occultist' includes some frightening content and jump-scares which may be unsuitable for younger players or those of a nervous disposition so has an advisory age restriction of 18+. We cannot admit children below the age of 10 into any of the game rooms at any time.
