What is an Escape Room?
Escape Rooms are interactive live-action game, played in groups of 2-6 players. You're locked in and are working against the clock using only your wits and the contents of the room to work out how to escape before time runs out.
What rooms do you have?
We will have two brand new Escape Room games 'BATTLE OF THE BANDS' and 'THE OCCULTIST' which take up to 60 minutes and can be played in groups of 2-6 players. We also offer a completely unique multiplayer game for larger groups called 'SABOTAGE' which is a longer experience, taking 90 minutes.
When do you open?
We don't have an exact opening date yet. We're in the new venue and working on the build and room setup at the moment. We hope to be opening for bookings late this year/early next year (2025-2026)
Can I book yet?
Our booking calendar is not yet available but if you want to get in early you can pay in advance for games of any number of players (2-6) at a discounted rate by heading to our store. Here you can buy Gift Vouchers or pre-pay for set game vouchers at a lower price than when we open - as a thank you for supporting us while we get off the ground.
Where can I find you?
We are on the first floor of The Corn Exchange, on Newport High Street, with our own entrance opposite McCann's Bar/The Carpenters Arms. We're just a stone's throw from our old location in Griffin Street (but much easier to find).
Can I still play your old rooms anywhere?
We retired our previous rooms 'TORTURECORP' and 'HOST' when leaving our previous location. You can learn more about those rooms here.
How much does it cost to play?
The price per person varies depending on the size of your team. It's cheaper per person to play in larger groups and we'd generally advise that teams of 4+ players stand a better chance at beating the rooms. Escape Rooms are charged from £19.50-£28.50 per person depending on your team size. Sabotage is a longer experience for larger groups of 8-14 people and costs £17.50-£30.62 per person, depending on the number of players.
Can I use your rooms to play my own games?
We will be offering players the chance to use the 'SABOTAGE' room to run their own tabletop RPG games. The room has a large table at the centre and very atmospheric, early Victorian era décor, with nods to dark spiritualism and the occult. The room will be soundproofed and have the option for 'Day' and 'Night' lighting modes and for atmospheric backing music/sound effects to match both modes. If I book/pre-pay for a game, can I add extra players later?
Absolutely. If you have booked for 2-5 players you can add any number of extra players up to a maximum of five. If you give us enough notice (at least 48 hours) you can just pay the difference in the booking cost to add extras. However, any extra players added at short notice will pay a flay fee of £22, to be paid on the day of your visit, prior to your game.
Can children play?
Under 18s are welcome to play but, for insurance and health & safety purposes, they must have a paying adult of at least 21 years of age in the game room with them throughout their game. This adult is included in the number of (paid) players as we have to adhere to strict rules on room capacities. 'The Occultist' includes some frightening content and jump-scares which may be unsuitable for younger players or those of a nervous disposition so has an advisory age restriction of 15+. We cannot admit children below the age of 10 into the game rooms at any time.
