Our Origins...
Originally a sibling partnership of David Daniel & Elinor (Ellie) Chopping. We opened at our Griffin Street location in May 2017 with our first Escape Room experience, TORTURECORP, adding HOST in 2018. We later added a 'Co-Op Mode' to TORTURECORP, allowing us to host larger groups of 8-12 players, both locked into separate spaces, having to work together to escape. We are also very proud to have been the first Escape Room in Wales to offer a Welsh language option, having had TORTURECORP fully translated and bookable as a Welsh Language option.
We were Newport's first Escape Room experience and quickly garnered our Five Star rating on TripAdvisor as well as bagging The South Wales Argus Business Award for 'Start Up Business Of The Year' and The Voice Magazine's 'Activity Of The Year' 2018.

For the duration of our run in our Griffin Street location we held the title of #1 for Fun & Games in Newport until our closure in late 2020. You can see our previous TripAdvisor rating and reviews here.
We have been on an extended hiatus since then and are now relaunching as a new partnership with original co-owner & director Ellie Chopping & husband Chris Chopping, happily continuing the tradition of keeping The Escape Rooms a family business.
TortureCorp
Set in a dystopian alternate reality, policing has been completely privatised and the grunts at TORTURECORP get paid by the number of confessions they can extract. You are a 'Cherub' within the uprising and you have an hour to escape TORTURECORP's evil clutches before your time runs out... permanently.
HOST
Set far in the future on the promising new mining colony on Daedalus. All communications from the base to Earth have ceased. You are a rescue team being sent to find the colonists, fix the communications problem and head home. However things may not be as simple as you had hoped... Oxygen is low and there are signs of a mysterious pathogen on board. Keep your wits about you and get out of there, without getting infected...
