Please read this waiver carefully. It’s here to keep everyone safe and make sure your team has the best possible time. By attending and/or taking part in any experience provided by The Escape Rooms Newport (at either our Yellow Rooms site or our Red Rooms site), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms below.

To make sure everyone has a brilliant (and safe) experience:

●       Zero-tolerance: alcohol & drugs. You must not attend under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or substances that impair judgement. If a participant appears intoxicated or impaired, The Escape Rooms Newport may refuse entry or end the session (no refunds in these circumstances).

●       Respect our team and other players. Abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or unsafe behaviour toward staff or other guests will not be tolerated. We may stop the game and ask anyone to leave if behaviour is unacceptable.

●       Look after the rooms, props, and set. Our games are immersive and built to be handled as intended — but excessive force, deliberate misuse or vandalism will not be tolerated.

●       Under‑18s must be supervised. Anyone under 18 must be supervised by a paying adult at all times (including in reception areas and during the experience). The supervising adult is responsible for the minor’s conduct and safety throughout the visit.

Escape rooms are designed to be exciting and immersive. They can involve both physical and mental activity, including (but not limited to):

●       Moving around the room(s), bending, crouching, reaching, and navigating themed spaces

●       Using hands/arms to interact with props as intended

●       Problem-solving, teamwork, and decision-making under time pressure

●       Sensory effects such as sound, lighting, and suspense themes

By taking part, you agree and confirm that:

●       You are medically fit to participate. You confirm you do not have any medical, physical, or mental condition that would make participation unsafe for you or others.

●       You will tell us about anything we should know. Before the game starts, you will inform a Game Host about any relevant condition, injury, access requirement, allergy, pregnancy, heart condition, epilepsy/seizures, claustrophobia, mobility issues, anxiety/panic triggers, or anything else that could affect your safety or the experience.

●       You take personal responsibility for your safety. You agree to act sensibly, watch where you’re going, use props as intended, and not to run, climb, or attempt anything unsafe.

●       You will follow staff instructions. You agree to follow all safety briefings and any instructions given by our Game Hosts and staff at all times. If asked to stop doing something or to leave an area for safety reasons, you will do so immediately.

Liability (important):   To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Escape Rooms Newport is not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from participation unless it is caused by our negligence (or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under the laws of England and Wales). Nothing in this waiver limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our proven negligence.

Medical disclosure & emergency consent: 

●       You confirm that you have disclosed (or will disclose before play) any medical conditions or support needs relevant to your participation and safety. 

●       If you become unwell or injured during your visit, you authorise The Escape Rooms Newport staff to seek appropriate medical assistance (including calling emergency services) and you consent to receiving emergency medical treatment if it is required and you are unable to provide informed consent at the time.

We love capturing teams enjoying themselves.

●       Unless you opt out, you agree that The Escape Rooms Newport may take photographs and/or video recordings during or around your experience (for example, team photos) and may use them for marketing, website content, and social media.

●       Opt-out: If you do not want to be photographed, please tell a member of staff on arrival (before your game starts). We’ll happily note it and make sure your preference is respected.

By signing (including electronically), you confirm that:

●       You have read and understood this Guest Waiver in full

●       You agree to follow the House Rules and all staff instructions

●       You accept the Liability & Safety Waiver above

●       You understand that your electronic signature is intended to be legally binding and has the same effect as a handwritten signature

This waiver shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this waiver shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
